What is fear? Really? What is it... Have you ever heard the following acronym?
FEAR: False Evidence Appearing Real
Satan uses what is negative... the negatives, the snapshots from our lives and puts photos in our memory or our imagination
of those moments. Sometimes, these seem very real. Our brain doesn't
know the difference between fantasy/ imagination and reality. Satan uses
this against us to his own benefit when we allow him to.
But you
know what? There is a secret weapon we can use against fear... this
tool of the enemy that he brings against us. A secret weapon a lot more
powerful than fear itself. Fear is false evidence appearing real. It is
not evidence of the real. Love, on the other hand, is about bringing Light, Obedience, Virtue, and Encouragement to others. Love.There
is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do
with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. ~1 John 4:18 (ESV)
God
hasn't given us fear. Fear never comes from Him. When the Bible says we
are to fear the Lord, this means we are to be in awe of Him and
worship, not run for our lives as though He were a cougar coming to maul
us.
For the Spirit which God has given us is not a spirit of cowardice, but one of power and of love and of sound judgement. ~2 Timothy 1:7 (Weymouth New Testament)
The
next time you have the choice between walking into Satan's darkroom
with the negatives and walking out into the Light, what will YOU choose
to do?
